Record $315,044 Raised at 2026 VOLthon to Support East Tennessee Children’s Hospital
UT Federal Credit Union Partners with Students to Fund Pediatric Care in East Tennessee
KNOXVILLE, TENN. – February 25, 2026 – The University of Tennessee’s 2026 VOLthon, presented by UT Federal Credit Union, raised a record-breaking $315,044.70 to benefit East Tennessee Children’s Hospital (ETCH).
Held February 21 at the university’s Student Union, the 12-hour student-led dance marathon brought together more than 700 students to raise funds and awareness for children and families served by ETCH. Inspired by the length of a typical nurse’s shift, the event featured dancing, games, and opportunities for participants to connect with Children’s Hospital ambassadors who shared their personal stories.
Funds raised through VOLthon will support the expansion of the Hogs for the Cause Hematology Oncology Center at ETCH, strengthening critical care services for pediatric patients across East Tennessee.
In addition to serving as the presenting sponsor, UT Federal Credit Union (UTFCU) presented a $6,000 check in support of VOLthon’s vital mission and the students who work year-round to make it possible.

Now in its 31st year, VOLthon is the University of Tennessee’s largest student-run philanthropy organization. The group supports local children’s hospitals through Children's Miracle Network, a nonprofit that raises funds and awareness to help ensure all children receive the care they need at their local children’s hospital. Every dollar raised through VOLthon stays local to provide life-saving treatments, equipment, and compassionate care.
Both VOLthon and UT Federal Credit Union maintain longstanding relationships with East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, making the credit union’s role as presenting sponsor a natural fit. The partnership underscores UT Federal Credit Union’s continued investment in the people and communities it serves throughout Tennessee.
